Crest Flag

Description

The flag shape that frames your design instead of fighting it

The Crest Flag curves gently from top to bottom, framing your graphic in a sleek, sophisticated outline — which is why it's the flag of choice for premium brands, event entrances and forecourts that want presence without shouting. Dye-sublimation printed on 117gsm knitted polyester with 80–90% show-through on the reverse, it's lightweight, quick to assemble and happy indoors or out. A real person checks your artwork before it's printed, and every order helps restore forests through our Print A Tree project.

Artwork made easy

Every order includes a free artwork check by a real person — you don't need to ask. If we spot a problem, we'll contact you before anything gets printed.

Crest flags are set up on shaped templates, so use the template for your chosen size. As standard, the front face of the design sits with the base and pole on the left-hand side — if you'd rather the pole on the right, flip the template shapes horizontally, not your design. Bold graphics and strong colour read best on fabric at distance. Supply as a print-ready PDF with fonts outlined, and if you're unsure about the template, send us what you have and we'll set it up.

Frequently asked questions

What is a crest flag?
A crest flag — sometimes called a crest banner — curves gently from top to bottom, framing the printed graphic in an elegant outline. It's a freestanding promotional flag suited to both indoor and outdoor use, dye-sublimation printed on knitted polyester for vibrant, detailed colour.
Is the flag printed on both sides?
As standard it's printed single-sided, with the knitted polyester giving 80–90% show-through — so your design reads (mirrored and slightly fainter) from the reverse. For full opacity both ways, choose the double-sided option: two printed flags with a blockout membrane sandwiched between them, stitched together as one flag.
Anything to know before ordering double-sided?
Yes, one honest caveat: double-sided flags are heavier, and flag bases aren't designed to support that extra weight — bases aren't covered by warranty when used with double-sided flags. If you're going double-sided, talk to us about the most secure fixing for your location first.
Which base do I need?
It depends on your flag size and the ground: spikes suit soft ground like grass, while weighted and plate-style bases suit hard standing indoors and out. Choose to match the size you're ordering — and if you tell us where the flag's going, we'll recommend.
Can crest flags be used in wind?
Free-standing, they're suitable for winds up to Beaufort Scale 4 (13–18mph). Dismantle in stronger winds — and note that heavy rain combined with wind adds weight to the fabric and strain to the pole.
How long will a crest flag last, and how do I care for it?
For a regularly flown outdoor flag, a realistic maximum lifespan is around six months — UV gradually fades fabric and air pollution can grey white areas. To get the most from it: machine wash at 30° with no detergent, dry completely before storing, keep it from snagging on the pole or nearby objects, don't place poles too close together, and take it down in adverse weather.
How should I set up my artwork?
Use the shaped template for your size, keeping the design bold and key elements inside the safe area. The standard setup puts the pole on the left of the front face; to switch sides, flip the template shapes horizontally but leave your design unflipped. Every order gets a free artwork check by a real person, so we'll catch anything before printing.
