Fair warning: chalkboard artwork is the most technical file setup we ask for, because printing onto a dark board needs white ink layers — a multi-layered PDF with your design plus two duplicate spot-colour layers (Spot_1 and Spot_2, 100% black, set to overprint fill) that lay down the white base. Keep text at 18pt or larger and lines at 2pt or heavier, as fine detail won't hold at this resolution. How does the printed branding work with the chalk? ›

Your logo or design is UV printed permanently onto the board — usually as a header or border — and the rest of the surface stays clear for chalk. The print never wipes away with the daily message, so the board always looks branded even when the specials change.

Yes — both traditional chalk and chalk markers work. Markers give bolder, weather-hardier lettering for outside; stick chalk is quickest for daily changes.

Can the chalkboard stay outside permanently? ›

No — it's built for indoor and outdoor use during the day, but the wooden construction isn't waterproof, so bring it in overnight and during wet weather. If you need signage that lives outside permanently, our printed A-frame signs are the weatherproof alternative.
