Feather Flag

Description

Curved, tall, and impossible to walk past

The feather flag is the one that catches the eye and holds the wind — a tall, curved profile that flies gracefully even in a light breeze, drawing attention to forecourts, shopfronts, events and exhibitions. Dye-sublimation printed on 117gsm knitted polyester with 80–90% show-through on the reverse, in four sizes from 2.5 to over 5 metres tall, on high-performance aluminium and GRP poles. Lightweight, portable and assembled without tools. A real person checks your artwork before it's printed, and every order helps restore forests through our Print A Tree project.

Sizes at a glance

Small stands 2560mm tall with a 500 × 1900mm graphic (3 pole pieces). Medium 3150mm, 600 × 2600mm (4 pieces). Large 4080mm, 785 × 3400mm (4 pieces). Extra Large 5140mm, 850 × 3900mm (5 pieces). Taller reads from further away and commands a forecourt; smaller suits doorways, pavements and indoor spaces. Choose a base to match both the flag size and the ground it's standing on — we'll advise if you tell us where it's going.

Artwork made easy

Every order includes a free artwork check by a real person — you don't need to ask. If we spot a problem, we'll contact you before anything gets printed.

Use the template for your size and supply a CMYK PDF with fonts outlined, keeping key content clear of the sleeve edge. Flags read at a distance while moving, so bold, high-contrast design wins over fine detail. On orientation: our single-sided templates put the pole and base on the left of the front face as standard — if you'd prefer them on the right, flip the template shapes horizontally (just the template shapes, not your design), or ask us and we'll set it up. Not sure? Send your file and we'll handle it.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a feather flag and a blade flag?
Shape. A feather flag has a curved top edge that tapers like a quill, flying with movement even in light wind; a blade flag has a straight, upright edge for a sharper, more formal look. Both use the same knitted polyester and pole system — it's purely which silhouette suits your brand.
What sizes are available?
Four: Small (2560mm), Medium (3150mm), Large (4080mm) and Extra Large (5140mm) standing heights, with graphics from 500 × 1900mm up to 850 × 3900mm. Bigger reads further; smaller suits tighter and indoor spaces.
Are bases included?
No — bases are chosen separately to suit both your flag size and the ground: ground spikes for grass, weighted or cross bases for hard standing, wall mounts and more. Tell us where the flag's going and we'll recommend the right one.
Can I order a double-sided feather flag?
Yes — double-sided flags sandwich a blockout membrane between two knitted polyester layers, stitched together as one for a solid, correct-reading image both ways. One caveat: standard bases aren't warranted for the extra weight of a double-sided flag, so ask us about the most secure fixing for your location.
Can feather flags be used outdoors, and how do I care for them?
Yes, indoors and out — but dismantle in winds above Beaufort Scale 4 (13–18mph), keep clear of anything the fabric could snag on, and don't set poles too close together. Machine wash at 30° with no detergent, dry fully before storing, and position away from heavy pollution where white areas can grey over time.
How long will a feather flag last?
For a regularly flown flag, a realistic maximum lifespan is around six months, depending on weather and hours in use. The poles and base last far longer — a replacement graphic refreshes the whole display for a fraction of a new flag.
