Hardback Books
Add a prestigious look to any print project with Hardback Book, also known as Hardcover Book printing
Description
A book built to be kept, not filed
A hardback gives a publication permanence — the weight and finish that says this is meant to last. Ours are properly case bound: your printed cover wrapped around rigid greyboard to form the hard case, with the inner pages bound using strong PUR adhesive and finished with white end papers. It's the binding for corporate documents, school leavers' yearbooks and limited-edition publications that will be handled and re-read for years. A real person checks your artwork before anything is printed — and on case binding that check earns its keep — and every order helps restore forests through our Print A Tree project.

How case binding works
It's the traditional hardback method, done properly. Your printed front and back covers are wrapped around a sheet of rigid 2400-micron greyboard to create the hard "case". The inner pages are bound together with strong PUR adhesive — the most durable page-binding glue available. Blank white end papers glue the case to the text block front and back, and blank fly sheets sit just before and after your printed pages. The result is a book that opens well, holds together through heavy use, and feels like a real publication rather than a printout.
Every order plants trees
A book built to last generations is sustainability in itself — and through our Print A Tree project with Ecologi, every Printlogik order funds verified reforestation. Free, automatic, every time. See the forest grow →
Artwork made easy
Every order includes a free artwork check by a real person — case binding is the most involved artwork we handle, so this check genuinely protects your order.
Supply your artwork as two files. The cover goes as a single spread — front, spine and back together, including the hinge and wrap-around — using our cover template, which builds in all the bleed, safe zone and wrap requirements. Use our spine width calculator to get the spine exactly right; it depends on your page count and stock, and a wrong spine is the classic hardback mistake. The inner pages go as a separate PDF with individual pages in running order — so a 40-page book is a 40-page inner PDF. Two rules that matter: inner pages must total a multiple of 4, and everything supplied as CMYK PDF/X-1a at 300dpi with 3mm bleed and a 10mm safe zone. Blank end papers and fly sheets are added by us — you don't supply those. If any of this is daunting, send us what you have and we'll guide the setup before printing.
