Supply a CMYK PDF with 3mm bleed and fonts outlined. Large-format outdoor prints are viewed from a distance, so 150dpi is plenty at these sizes — no need for huge 300dpi files. Two things to plan for: allow quiet borders of at least 10mm so nothing important sits at the very edge, and if the poster sits in a frame, allow larger quiet borders to match the frame, since the frame lip covers the outer edge. These are read at a glance from across a road, so go bold — one clear message and a strong image. Send your file and we'll confirm it before printing.

How long do outdoor posters last? ›
Around 4 to 6 weeks outdoors — they're water-resistant and built for short-term, high-impact campaigns rather than permanent display. For a longer-lasting outdoor sign, a PVC banner is the more durable choice; tell us your timeframe and we'll point you to the right product.
What is blueback material? ›
It's a poster paper with a blue-tinted backing, standard for outdoor billboard and hoarding posters. The tinted back stops any old poster or surface underneath showing through your new one when it's pasted up, so your design always reads clean and bright.
Are they fully waterproof? ›
Water-resistant rather than fully waterproof — they handle rain and weather well for their 4-to-6-week life, which is what outdoor poster campaigns need. For something that must survive months of all weather, choose a PVC banner or a rigid weatherproof board instead.
What resolution should my artwork be? ›
150dpi at final size is plenty. Because outdoor posters are viewed from a distance, they don't need the 300dpi of close-up print — a 150dpi file keeps the file size manageable while still looking sharp at viewing distance.
What's the difference from indoor posters? ›
Indoor posters are printed on paper stocks for windows, boards and interiors; outdoor posters use water-resistant blueback material built to survive the elements for a short campaign. If it's going outside, choose these; for a shop window or notice board, indoor posters are the better and more economical option.
Do you print billboard sizes? ›
