Outdoor Roller Banner

The weather-resilient double-sided unit

Description

A roller banner that can actually go outside

Standard roller banners are indoor kit — take one outside and the first gust decides how your day goes. The Thunder is built for it: a heavy, stable base with large twin feet, a three-part heavy-duty bungee pole, a multi-screw-secured snap rail, and ground pegs that hold it steady in winds up to 24mph. Double-sided as standard with two graphics on tough 440gsm PVC, so it reads from both directions. A real person checks your artwork before it's printed, and every order helps restore forests through our Print A Tree project.

Always use the ground pegs outdoors

This matters more than any other instruction on this page. Pegged into the ground, the Thunder is rated for wind speeds up to 24mph (38kph). Without the pegs, that drops to just 7mph (11kph) — a light breeze. The pegs are included and they are what make this an outdoor banner rather than an indoor one standing outside, so use them every time, and take the unit down if the weather turns beyond its rating. On hard standing where pegs can't go in, weigh the base down securely instead and keep a close eye on conditions.

Every order plants trees

A weather-resilient unit you use season after season, with graphics replaced on their own. Through our Print A Tree project with Ecologi, every Printlogik order funds verified reforestation on top. Free, automatic, every time. See the forest grow →

Artwork made easy

Every order includes a free artwork check by a real person — you don't need to ask. If we spot a problem, we'll contact you before anything gets printed.

Supply CMYK PDFs at 850 × 2175mm with fonts outlined — two files, one for each side, and they can be different designs if you want to face two audiences. The cassette trap applies: the bottom 150mm feeds into the base and stays hidden, so 2025mm is visible — keep logos, text and contact details out of that bottom strip. Outdoor banners are read at a glance and often from further away than indoor ones, so keep it bold. Send your files and we'll confirm the fit before printing.

Frequently asked questions

How much wind can it take?
Up to 24mph (38kph) when secured with the included ground pegs. Without the pegs it should only be used in winds up to 7mph (11kph), which is barely a breeze — so always peg it down outdoors, and take it down if conditions exceed the rating.
What makes it different from an indoor roller banner?
Everything built for the weather: 440gsm PVC graphics instead of indoor paper stock, large twin feet and a three-part heavy-duty pole for stability, a multi-screw-secured snap rail, and ground pegs to anchor it. A standard indoor banner outdoors will blow over and the graphic won't survive the damp.
Is it double-sided?
Yes — two graphics are included as standard, so it reads from both directions, which is what you want on a forecourt or walkway. You can run the same design on both sides or two different ones at no extra print cost.
Why does my artwork need to be 2175mm tall?
The lower 150mm anchors inside the base and stays hidden — needed for the mechanism, but nothing important should sit there. Design to the full 2175mm and keep key content within the visible 2025mm.
Can I use it on a hard surface where pegs won't go?
You can, but the pegs are what give it its wind rating, so on tarmac or paving you'll need to weigh the base down securely and watch conditions closely — treat the safe wind limit as much lower without pegs. For permanent hard-standing display, a heavy-duty banner frame or flag may suit better.
Can I replace the graphics later?
Yes — order replacement graphics to refresh your message while keeping the unit, which is the economical way to run seasonal or changing campaigns outdoors.
