Paper Placemats

New opportunities for the wedding, event and hospitality industries with printed Placemats

Description

The table setting that sells while people wait

A printed placemat is prime advertising space — it sits directly in front of a customer for the length of a meal. Use it to push your specials, tell your story, run a kids' activity sheet, or simply finish a table beautifully at a wedding or event. Ours are uncoated paper, so they're pleasant to write on, fully disposable and a more environmentally friendly choice than plastic-coated mats. A real person checks your artwork before anything is printed, and every order helps restore forests through our Print A Tree project.

Artwork made easy

Every order includes a free artwork check by a real person — you don't need to ask. If we spot a problem, we'll contact you before anything gets printed.

Supply a CMYK PDF at 300dpi with 3mm bleed and fonts outlined, extending your background to the bleed so there's no white edge after trimming. The design consideration that's easy to miss: plates, glasses and cutlery will cover the middle of the mat, so keep your logo, offers and key information around the outer band where they stay visible through the meal. If you're printing an activity mat, leave generous open space for children to draw in. Send your file and we'll confirm it before printing.

Frequently asked questions

Can you write on them?
Yes — the uncoated stock takes pen, pencil and crayon cleanly, which is why they work so well as kids' activity mats, puzzle sheets, tasting notes or tick-box order forms. A coated mat would repel ink; uncoated absorbs it.
Are they environmentally friendly?
They're uncoated paper with no plastic laminate, so they can go straight into paper recycling after use — a better option than laminated or plastic mats. If you'd rather reuse than recycle, a wipe-clean laminated mat lasts longer; tell us your priority and we'll advise.
What are placemats good for?
In hospitality they're one of the best-value pieces of print you can buy, because a customer looks at one for an entire meal — perfect for specials, dessert menus, your story, loyalty offers or social handles. At weddings and events they finish the table and can double as menus or seating information.
Where should I put my key information?
Around the outer band of the mat. The centre disappears under a plate as soon as food arrives, so logos, offers and calls to action belong nearer the edges where they stay in view for the whole meal.
Can I use them as menus?
Absolutely — a placemat menu means every diner has the menu in front of them without handing anything out, and it's easy to update for seasonal changes. Many venues run a placemat menu alongside a proper folded or laminated menu for the main list.
What quantities can I order?
From smaller runs for a wedding or one-off event up to bulk quantities for a busy restaurant getting through mats daily. Current quantities and pricing are shown in the options above, with the cost per mat dropping as volume rises.
