Perfect Bound Booklets
Choose perfect binding for your premium booklet printing
Description
A booklet with a proper spine, not a staple
Perfect binding is what turns a stack of pages into something that looks like a publication: pages bound with strong PUR adhesive into a flat, square spine you can print on and read on a shelf. It's the step up from saddle stitching for brochures, product catalogues and reports that need to feel considered — finished in matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination. A real person checks your artwork before anything is printed, and on bound work that check earns its keep. Every order helps restore forests through our Print A Tree project.
Key details
A square, flat spine you can print with a title — so it reads on a shelf like a real publication
Strong polyurethane reactive adhesive — far more durable than standard glue and resistant to wear
Matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination on the cover — soft-touch gives the most premium feel
Any page total divisible by 4, on quality paper stocks for the cover and inner pages
A print expert reviews your page count, spine and margins before production — the check that catches binding errors
Product catalogues, brochures, annual reports, programmes, portfolios and lookbooks
Perfect bound, saddle stitched or hardback?
Three ways to bind a booklet, and page count usually decides. Saddle stitching (stapled through the fold) is the economical choice for thinner booklets and short runs. Perfect binding — this one — glues the pages into a flat printed spine, which looks and feels considerably more professional and suits anything from a substantial brochure upwards. Hardback case binding wraps the whole thing in rigid board for a permanent, premium publication. Thin and cost-led, choose saddle stitch; a proper catalogue or brochure, choose perfect bound; a book meant to last years, choose hardback.

Artwork made easy
Every order includes a free artwork check by a real person — you don't need to ask. Bound work has more ways to go wrong than flat print, so this check genuinely protects your order.
Supply a CMYK PDF at 300dpi with 3mm bleed and fonts outlined, with pages in running order. Three rules that matter on perfect binding: your page total must be divisible by 4 (add blanks to reach the nearest multiple if needed); keep text, page numbers and images at least 10mm from every edge, since the binding takes up more of the inner margin than you'd expect; and — the one people miss — leave the inside spine and 5mm either side of it completely blank, because the glue bonds far better to unprinted paper. Send your files and we'll confirm the setup before printing.
